Definition of a Cannon
A cannon is a weapon of more than 1 inch (2.5cm) in
calaber that has a barrel, breech, and firing mech.
Cannons comes from the latin word "canna" which means
a tube or reed. Large cannons were first used in warfare about 1350.
Cannons of this time were cast of bronze and of wrought iron.
Cannons fireing heavy balls were used extensively by Union and
Confederate forces during the Civil War.
